Anum Iqbal N.Y.S. Licensed Social Worker
Anum Iqbal is a New York State Licensed Social Worker and a graduate of Columbia University School of Social Work. She is trained in both psychodynamic and behavioral approaches and is passionate about using a holistic approach to care. Anum truly believes that an individual’s mind, body, and soul are connected and the key to personal development and growth is to balance all the different aspects of one’s self.
She started her career as a social worker at the Department of Homeless Services where she gained the rich and valuable experience of working with individuals struggling with multiple issues simultaneously, such as homelessness, mental health, and/or domestic violence and substance use. She was able to use the treatment approaches she has learned as well as her intuitive guidance to help individuals transform their lives. She also has experience working as an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapist working with children on the spectrum.
Anum is a firm believer that healing comes from within and each individual has the power within themselves to thrive with the proper supports in place. She uses a psychodynamic approach to help individuals identify the various traumas that may be affecting their daily functioning and overall quality of life. In addition, she supports her clients dealing with their various individual stressors using a variety of treatment orientations, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness.
Anum uses a very welcoming and non-judgmental approach, she provides her clients with a space that offers them compassion, empathy, and validation. If you are seeking to begin your self-healing journey and striving to reclaim the power within yourself to thrive, reach out to Anum at the contact information below for a consultation.
